Tucked in...

We have arrived and are comfortably resting in room 106. We have WiFi here too!!! We are going to hang out as a family this evening. Mom, Jenn, Anne, Teed, Jill and myself are all lounging in the room with him. It is quite a spacious room. We will post sometime tomorrow about visiting times. At this point we ask for some time alone at least for this evening. We will let you all know how tomorrow goes. Pray for a smooth night.

  1. Candie, Sarah, and family,
I'm so sorry to read your blog, but feel confident you all are making the right decisions for Dave because you are the people who know and love him. I've been to the hospice facility in Louisville and it is a lovely and comfortable place with a great staff. You are all in good hands. Praying Dave is comfortable and you all are finding the strength you need. Kim

  3. I am glad you are enjoying some family time, I know how important that is....hugs to everyone....
We are crying with all of you, but tonight we're thinking of you, Dave...So, David, these words are for you.....Friend Dave, Uncle Dave, Brother Dave... We're thinking about what “comfort” you always bring to the group, and ~~ to borrow a phrase, we want to say that your “presence ALWAYS makes EVERYTHING better!” (this is an RD original statement)......the jokes are funnier, the laughter is louder, the stories are LONGER (anyone want to hear his story about traveling to cabin @ Lake Maloney in 1987 with his sleeping bag & lanterns??), the remembrances are more embellished, and the golf stories...... definitely more detailed!! Competitive golf with David always includes a pep talk about “beating the flat bellies!”. We hope to see you soon, and we love you!!!

  6. I know first hand what this means for all of you and I must say it is still very fresh in my mind, but it was the right and humane decsion for our family and I know that it is for you too......I am here now for you, I will be here then and in the future. I would like to bring a dinner over to the house either tomorrow or the next day and leave it for whenever you would like it, but know that you will be spending most of your time with Dave....My heart is there and just tell him I love him and God's speed on the rest of his journey. I just want to say see ya later and not goodbye....Lovingly Dianne Hanson Torbeck
