No change

Nothing changed which is good. The C-Scan is the same so there has not been anymore swelling over the course of yesterday and last night. He has been sleeping A LOT today but becomes alert to put on a show for all the company. As I type he is laughing...thanks Jim and Kay and the Momma Drama stories!! We met with Hospice this morning just to find out what our options are. They are sending in a doctor to perform a palliative (sp) exam?? Essentially he will meet or chat with the Oncologist, Neurosurgeon, and Pulmonologist then give us the overall decision as to how we proceed. We appreciate all of our prayer warriors (thanks for the term Teresa...I like it A LOT) and visitors more than you know!!!

  5. Sarah - thanks so much for keeping us posted on Dave's condition. We tried to blog earlier, but being new at it, didn't succeed. Early on, we were really glad to hear that a treatment plan had been put in place following the diagnosis. We were sad to hear the news of the stroke, but Dave seems to be in surprisingly good spirits and doing relatively well. We are grateful that he has a loving family close to him and great friends for support. We only wish that we lived closer so that we could provide personal support. We are confident that with God's help and Dave's strength, that he will get through this difficult time. Know that we are praying very hard for Dave's full recovery and please tell him hello for us. All our love to Dave, Candie and the rest of the family.

Dorian, Paula and the rest of the Brown family.

  6. I've posted a variety of "comments", and they wouldn't go through (Just wanted you to know that Patty and Richard/Sharon also attempted to send you their thoughts/prayers)....so, I will try again :).....I'm continuing to pray for your doctors' wisdom/discernment, and for continued physical strength/ stamina/patience/faith for Dave, and for comfort and strength to surround your entire family. Wish I could deliver some of Dave's favorites.....(I know most of his food "quirks" after cooking for him the last 20+ years, ha!....no "salad dressing" for him, only mayo; and "NO", he does NOT like my fancy fresh pepper grinder, nor my tacky wine opener... no cold slaw for him, and make the "DIET COKE", with caffeine, none of that caffeine free stuff..Have I made him laugh, yet???? I could go on and on..., and with a big smile in my heart as I reminisce!!). Sending love and hugs, td/rd/bd/rd

Great to hear todays update - I stopped in and said hi before I left this evening and he was not happy to see me - and that is a good thing! :) Candie, Jenn, and Sarah - you are all so wonderful - hang in there, Dave is strong and is doing what he can to fight this mean cancer. I hope Dave is home soon and out of that darn bed! Lots of love and thoughts, Tiff (Nurse Ratchet)
