Set Back

Dad had a stroke last night. We are in ICU while he gets medication now to stop the bleeding in turn thickening the blood back up. He is being administered steroids to prevent the swelling in the brain. Sometime today they will put in a filter to prevent any clots from traveling to the lung and heart. He is alert and coherent but is experiencing extreme weakness in the left side. I struggled with posting this information but we need you to pray specifically so here you go. Lord please be with us and heal our daddy. All things are possible with You. You are so big.

  2. Sarah and family,

This last post was as difficult for us to read as it was for you to post! We're sorry to hear about this latest problem, but glad Dave was in the hospital so he could receive immediate attention. Quick action makes a major difference.

And, Sarah, it's great that you are keeping in touch so there aren't too many phone calls for your family to return at this very crazy time. It's exhausting to keep saying the same things over and over and you forget who knows what. I'm sure your folks are as happy you're doing this as everyone else. So keep up the excellent work!

There were prayers for Dave and the rest of the Schey contingent at First Congregational this morning that will continue. When Neil expresses a concern at church, it gets immediate attention because he so infrequently makes one.

Dave, we were going to give you grief for missing Neil's first Thurseblot celebration, but you and Candie were obviously tending to more important tasks. Next year you'll have to come up with a different excuse.

Know that we care, and send prayers and best wishes for healing and health, stamina to deal with all the unknowns, and faith to conquer any and all challenges!

    Big hugs to all!
